Activity: Personal Grooming & Social Etiquette




On week 5, there are two other modules that undergo by all the participants which are the Personal Grooming & Social Etiquette and the Customer Service's module.


Personal Grooming & Social Etiquette is held on 22nd & 23rd November 2009 and the objectives of the module are:



  • Describes the elements of professionalism


  • Explains the importance of grooming and social etiquette in enhancing professionalism


  • Uses effective appearance techniques to improve professional


  • Demonstrates social and business behaviors that exemplify professionalism in various interactions.



There were four sub-topics in the modules which are Building Professionalism, Professional Grooming, Social Etiquette and Table Manners. Professional grooming was the best activities above all sub-topics. Participants have been taught how to make up, dress-up like professional and also learn the correct ways on how to knot the necktie especially for the ladies. During this week, all GEMS participants really give their full cooperation through out the modules such as they wear the proper and professional attire.


But the most interesting activities during this module are the make over and catwalk session. Some companies also do invite other company to join them in catwalk session. Just one of the examples here, AgroGreen Sdn Bhd which is under supervision of Mr. Jumari Kosrin as their trainer was invited by Mr Mohd Noorhisyam Bin Mohd Alwi, the trainer of Blue Wings Edu Consultant Sdn Bhd for their catwalk session. It was really fun session and it run smoothly till the end. Professional grooming is a must for the participants to learn in other to prepare themselves to enter the real working world in new professional look. :)
